Where to begin????????
Last April, Trev from Bodytonic posted a message on their forum and on various other message boards enquiring if anybody would be interested in opening a new record store in Dublin out of the Twisted Pepper building. I remember hearing about it with (admittedly)…
Boards Of Canada - Live PA, Warp 10, The Z Rooms, Old Truman Brewery, London, UK 1999-11-03 by +dB
This is probably the first time I’ve heard a recording of a live BOC set. Classic tracks.
@1 year agoI had never heard of The Possessed before (also produces under the name ‘The Mover’??) until this afternoon. It’s great. Dark, evil rave music.
Stumbled across this piece on youtube. Really like the subtle processing on the recorder. The electronics never become invasive, and the whole thing really works within its own soundworld. Except towards the end, where the electronics become a bit obvious and you become very aware of them as a sound being processed through an electronic effect (sounding a bit too much like GRM Tools Freq Warp for my tastes…). But overall a wicked piece. Here’s the composer’s website: http://www.sohrabuduman.co.uk/
I’d almost forgotten how much I loved Squarepusher, then I went back and revisited tunes like this.
Audio from Stop/Run installation. Homemade instruments by Ed Devane. More info.
